Governor Ademola Adeleke has won his polling unit in Saturday’s Osun State governorship election.
Adeleke, the Accord Party candidate, secured 421 votes at Polling Unit 009, Ward 02, Abogunde, Ede North Local Government Area.
The result was announced by the Presiding Officer after voting and counting were completed at the polling unit.
The governor’s victory at his polling unit triggered celebrations among supporters who gathered at the location.
Adeleke’s performance at the unit provided an early boost for his re-election campaign as results from across Osun continued to emerge.
The APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, and other contestants recorded substantially lower figures at the polling unit.
The result, however, remains only one of thousands of polling-unit results required before INEC can declare the overall winner of the election.
