Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi appeared publicly for the first time since his emergence as ADC vice-presidential candidate at a religious event where a symbolic key was presented to Pastor William Kumuyi.

Former Rivers State governor and African Democratic Congress vice-presidential candidate, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has made his first public appearance since his nomination for the 2027 election.

Amaechi appeared at a religious event in Abuja alongside veteran politician Jerry Gana and the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Archbishop Daniel C. Okoh. At the event, the trio presented a symbolic key to renowned cleric Pastor William Kumuyi.

The outing carries political significance largely because it is Amaechi’s first public appearance since emerging as the ADC’s vice-presidential candidate. Though the event itself was religious in nature, his presence placed him back in public view at a time when attention around the ADC ticket remains high.

Also notable was the company he kept at the event: Jerry Gana, a longstanding figure in Nigerian politics, and Archbishop Daniel Okoh, head of the Christian Association of Nigeria. Their joint appearance at the presentation gave the event a broader public profile beyond the symbolic act itself.

For now, the appearance stands as Amaechi’s first visible outing after his nomination, with the event in Abuja marking the beginning of what is likely to be a more public phase of his role on the ADC ticket.
