Governor Francis Nwifuru asked Ebonyi residents to overlook the shortcomings of his administration and continue supporting the APC.
Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has appealed to residents of the state to forgive what he described as the shortcomings of his administration and those of elected lawmakers, while urging continued support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor made the appeal during a democracy thanksgiving service held at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki to commemorate the third anniversary of his administration.
Addressing worshippers, government officials, political stakeholders and religious leaders, Nwifuru acknowledged that mistakes may have been made in the course of governance by his administration, members of the National Assembly and the Ebonyi State House of Assembly.
“Please forgive us; forgive me and the National Assembly members and the House of Assembly members. Forgive our shortcomings and vote for us again,” the governor said.
Reflecting on his years in office, Nwifuru described governance as a continuous learning process that requires humility, dedication and public understanding. He expressed gratitude for what he described as the achievements recorded under his administration.
The governor maintained that no government can claim perfection, but assured residents that his administration remains committed to improving service delivery, expanding infrastructure and delivering more democratic dividends across the state.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining ongoing development programmes aimed at improving the welfare of Ebonyi residents.
The thanksgiving service was attended by several political figures, including former governors of the state, among them Minister of Works David Umahi and Martin Elechi, alongside serving lawmakers and government officials.
