Justice Rahman Oshodi convicted Chukwuemeka Udezuka over the theft of more than ₦64 million.

Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, has convicted and sentenced Chukwuemeka Udezuka to 12 years imprisonment for stealing ₦64,060,000.

The judgment was delivered on Friday, June 5, 2026, after the court found the defendant guilty of the financial crime.

According to details presented before the court, the conviction involved the theft of a total sum exceeding ₦64 million, an amount the court considered substantial in arriving at its decision.

The ruling further reflects ongoing judicial efforts targeting financial crimes and economic offences within Nigeria’s legal system, particularly through specialised courts handling corruption and fraud-related matters.

Financial crime cases have continued to attract significant public interest as authorities intensify scrutiny around accountability, corporate integrity and economic misconduct.

With the sentencing now delivered, the case moves from prosecution into the enforcement phase of the court’s judgment.
