The former Deputy Senate President says recent developments forced him to seek a new political direction outside the ruling party.
Former Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, has expressed support for Peter Obi while maintaining that developments within the All Progressives Congress compelled him to pursue his political objectives outside the party.
Omo-Agege’s comments come shortly after his resignation from the APC, a decision he said followed consultations with political associates and supporters in Delta State.
According to him, the circumstances within the party no longer aligned with his political vision and the interests of those who had stood by him politically over the years.
The former governorship candidate has remained vocal about his political future following his departure from the ruling party, insisting that his support base remains intact despite recent developments.
His remarks add another dimension to the ongoing political realignments taking shape ahead of the 2027 elections, as major political actors continue to reposition themselves within an increasingly competitive landscape.
For now, attention remains on how these alliances and endorsements could influence political calculations in Delta State and beyond.
