Rival entertainers escalate tensions at face-off event as anticipation builds for May 1 boxing showdown
Nigerian singer Portable and comedian Carter Efe have once again sparked attention after exchanging heated words during a face-off ahead of their celebrity boxing match scheduled for “Chaos in the Ring” in Lagos.
The confrontation took place during promotional activities for the May 1, 2026 bout at the Federal Palace Hotel, where both entertainers were present to build hype for the highly anticipated fight.
The two social media personalities, who have been engaged in a long-running online feud, were seen trading insults and bold predictions about victory, prompting security personnel to intervene as tensions briefly escalated in front of fans and media.
Portable, known for his outspoken personality, confidently declared his intention to win the fight, while Carter Efe responded in kind, insisting he would defeat the singer when they meet in the ring.
The bout is part of the “Chaos in the Ring 4” celebrity boxing event, organised by Balmoral Group Promotions in collaboration with AK Promotions, and is expected to feature both celebrity and professional boxing matches.
Promoters say the event is designed to showcase Africa’s growing influence in influencer boxing, with global streaming rights secured ahead of the fight night.
Portable, who has previously participated in and won celebrity boxing bouts, including against Speed Darlington, enters the contest with experience in the format, while Carter Efe will be making one of his most high-profile sporting appearances.
The build-up continues to intensify as both entertainers prepare for a fight that has already generated significant public attention across Nigeria’s entertainment and sports scenes.
