Ogun police say weapons were recovered during a search operation carried out in the suspects’ residence.
Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a father and his son after weapons were allegedly discovered inside their residence during a police operation in the state.
Police authorities disclosed that officers recovered one locally-made pistol and a Dane gun from the family home during a search conducted by security operatives.
The command said the suspects were taken into custody following intelligence reports linked to unlawful possession of firearms.
Spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command stated that investigations were ongoing to determine the source of the weapons and whether the suspects were connected to other criminal activities within the area.
The police also warned residents against illegal possession of firearms, urging members of the public to provide useful information that could assist security agencies in combating crime.
