A presidential delegation arrived in Ogbomoso following the abduction of dozens of pupils and teachers from schools in Oriire Local Government Area.

President Bola Tinubu has sent a high-powered Federal Government delegation to Ogbomoso, Oyo State, following the abduction of pupils and teachers from schools in Esiele and Yawota communities in Oriire Local Government Area.

The delegation is led by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and includes National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu, Chief of Defence Staff Christopher Musa, Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe and presidential spokesman Sunday Dare.

The visit follows the attack on three schools where armed men reportedly abducted about 46 pupils and teachers during coordinated raids in the affected communities.

According to the Presidency, the delegation was sent to convey President Tinubu’s concern over the incident and reassure residents that efforts are underway to secure the safe return of the victims.

The development places renewed attention on the growing security challenges facing schools in parts of the country, particularly in rural communities where concerns over protection and emergency response have continued to intensify.

Security agencies said rescue operations remain ongoing, while authorities continue efforts to track those responsible for the abduction.
