The Federal Government says stronger collaboration with other countries is essential to addressing Nigeria’s evolving security challenges, with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, stressing the importance of international cooperation.
The Federal Government has called for stronger collaboration with other countries in tackling insecurity, saying global security challenges require coordinated international responses. The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sola Enikanolaiye, made the call while outlining Nigeria’s foreign policy priorities on security cooperation.
Enikanolaiye said no nation can effectively confront modern security threats in isolation, noting that terrorism, transnational crime, irregular migration and other cross-border security issues demand stronger partnerships among countries.
He explained that Nigeria remains committed to strengthening diplomatic engagement and security cooperation with regional and international partners as part of efforts to improve national and global security.
The minister’s remarks align with the Federal Government’s broader emphasis on collaborative approaches to security through intelligence sharing, diplomatic engagement and multilateral partnerships. In recent months, government officials have repeatedly highlighted the importance of coordinated responses to emerging security threats that extend beyond national borders.
Enikanolaiye reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness to work closely with friendly nations and international organisations in addressing shared security concerns. He said strengthening international cooperation remains an important component of the country’s efforts to safeguard national security while contributing to regional and global peace.
The Federal Government maintained that international partnerships will continue to play a central role in Nigeria’s security strategy, as authorities pursue deeper cooperation with other countries to confront evolving security challenges through coordinated action.
