Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu enjoys widespread support across Northern Nigeria and is well-positioned to secure even more votes in the region during the 2027 presidential election than he did in 2023.
Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has dismissed claims that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is losing support in Northern Nigeria, insisting that no serious political opposition exists against the President in the region. Speaking during an interview on ARISE Television, the governor expressed confidence that Tinubu would record an even stronger electoral performance across the North in the 2027 general elections.
According to Uba Sani, the Tinubu administration has delivered more developmental projects to Northern Nigeria than any previous government, pointing to investments in infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare and transportation.
He argued that the administration’s policies and projects have earned the confidence of many Northern residents and dismissed suggestions that the region had turned against the President.
The governor’s comments come amid increasing political realignments and early campaign activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
While opposition parties continue efforts to build coalitions capable of challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the governor maintained that electoral outcomes would ultimately be determined by the government’s performance rather than political rhetoric.
Uba Sani stated that President Tinubu would secure more votes in the North than he obtained during the 2023 presidential election, adding that voters would judge the administration based on its developmental achievements.
He also urged politicians to focus on issue-based campaigns instead of spreading narratives intended to create divisions among Nigerians.
The governor’s remarks add to the growing political debate over regional voting patterns ahead of the 2027 elections. As political parties intensify consultations and preparations, the North is expected to remain one of the key battlegrounds in determining the outcome of the presidential contest.
