The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has published an updated list containing 124 Nigerians identified for deportation as part of President Donald Trump’s intensified immigration enforcement programme. The agency said those listed were arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and placed on its “worst-of-the-worst” criminal register.

The United States government has released an updated deportation list featuring 124 Nigerians identified for removal under President Donald Trump’s ongoing immigration enforcement campaign targeting non-citizens convicted of criminal offences.

The names and photographs of the affected Nigerians were published by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which said the individuals are among foreign nationals facing deportation after being arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

According to the DHS, the affected Nigerians were included in what it described as its updated “worst-of-the-worst” criminal register, which highlights non-citizens arrested for offences that make them liable for removal from the United States.

The department stated that the operation forms part of the Trump administration’s broader immigration enforcement strategy aimed at carrying out mass deportations, beginning with convicted criminal offenders.

While the names and photographs of the affected individuals have been made public, U.S. authorities did not disclose when deportation proceedings would begin or provide detailed information on the specific offences attributed to each person.

Immigration enforcement has remained a central pillar of President Trump’s policy agenda, with the administration pledging stricter border controls and increased deportations of non-citizens convicted of criminal offences.

The publication of the updated list comes amid a broader nationwide enforcement campaign by DHS and ICE targeting foreign nationals considered removable under U.S. immigration laws.

In a statement accompanying the publication, the DHS said its officers were fulfilling President Trump’s directive by prioritising the removal of what it described as the “worst of the worst” criminal offenders.

The department, however, did not announce a timetable for the deportations or indicate when the affected Nigerians would be returned to Nigeria.

The release of the updated deportation list is expected to attract significant attention among Nigerians in the United States and immigration stakeholders. While the identities of the 124 individuals have now been made public, authorities have yet to disclose when deportation proceedings will be concluded or when those listed will be returned to Nigeria.
